Mission Statement

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Maintain custody and control of the city’s official records and the corporate seal.
  • Ensure that documents are recorded, filed, and archived properly.
  • Prepare City Council agenda packets, including finalizing agendas and distributing the packets.
  • Attend all meetings of the council and keep a full record of the proceedings in the journal (minutes) and perform follow-up activities resulting from Council meetings, including ensuring that ordinances or resolutions are properly signed and if necessary, published.
  • Administer oaths of office for all city officials .
  • Receive all Freedom of Information Act  (FOIA) requests and ensure that the request(s) is compliance with FOIA.
  • Prepare and maintain departmental budget.
  • Provide Notary Public services for residents, staff, and the general public.
  • Attest the signature of the Mayor on the appropriate documents.
  • Receive and archive bid documents.
  • Supervise clerical staff.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
